Advanced Features
Learn how to make the most out of NextRide App by utilizing its advanced features, such as installing it as a Progressive Web App, customizing quick links, using the Quick Trips and My Routes widgets, and accessing the MyRide app for ticket purchases.
On the Advanced Features page, you can learn about the additional features available on the NextRide app that can help you customize your experience and make the most out of your commuting experience.
Progressive Web App
Get the look and feel of a native application by installing NextRide onto the home screen of the device as a PWA. A PWA (Progressive Web App) is a web application that behaves like a native mobile app, providing an app-like experience to users without requiring an app store download. PWAs can be installed on supported devices, giving users quick access to the app from their home screen or app drawer.
Adjusting Quick Links
The icons on the bottom navigation bar are helpful quick links to get to the sections of the app that you use most. You have full control of what icon links will be in this bar. Simply tap and hold on an icon, and you will be presented the option to change the order of, delete, and replace different icons.
Quick Trips
The quick trips widget helps you plan trips for your commute with a tap from the app’s homepage. Once you have set a Home and Work address, you will be able to jump directly to the trip planner using those saved locations from the Quick Trips widget.
My Routes
The my routes widget is the place to see all the routes that you have favorited throughout the app. Quickly access a route’s schedule, alerts, or check out the Live Tracker view which will show real-time information and a map of the entire route. Recently visited routes will also show up here once you have started using the feature, so if there are routes you haven’t favorited yet but have visited, they will be at your fingertips on the home page.
The benefit of favorited routes is two-fold. First, routes you have favorited get pinned to the top of any card list. So if you are in Live Tracker view in an area with many routes, it will be easier to find the route you care about without any extra sorting or filtering. The other benefit is favorited routes show up more often while browsing the map beyond the default quarter-mile search radius. This way you can browse a little further away from your route in Commute view, but still get the information you need from your most frequented routes.
Buy Tickets
Need quick access to purchasing tickets? When using NextRide on your mobile device, you can access a link to RTDs MyRide app, which allows you to make ticket purchases. Simply open the navigation menu and the "Buy Tickets" (MyRide) link should be visible next to a ticket icon.
